Conscious Sedation
Our dentists have been certified for a few years to administer conscious sedation to provide our patients with stress-free and painless treatments. Patients have a better experience coming to the dentist when the sedation is administered.
What is Conscious Sedation?
These are gases that are breathed by the patients, which allow for the effects previously mentioned. These gases include a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide, which is the laughing gas. When the procedure is done, the patient will return back to his/her normal state and will be able to continue his/her daily routine.

How Safe is Conscious Sedation?
This technique is the safest and the most predictable technique to sedate patients. They describe it as a floating sensation or being in a pleasant dream while feeling relaxed and comfortable. Daily activities can be resumed after the treatment ends as the effect will be over.
Instructions for Before and After Conscious Sedation
- Do not eat at least 2 hours before the procedure
- Do not drive for a few hours after the procedure
- Do not exercise after the procedure
- Let us know if you have any health concerns
- Reschedule your appointment if you have symptoms of cold, flu or nasal congestion
